PRADA AND UNESCO TOGETHER FOR THE
FIRST VIRTUAL OCEAN LITERACY SUMMIT
Milan, 8 June 2020 – For World Oceans Day, UNESCO's Intergovernmental Oceanographic Commission hosted the first ever Virtual Ocean Literacy Summit, with over 1600 participants including UN leaders, heads of State, ministers, artists, scientists, activists, sport and business people. Lorenzo Bertelli attended the third panel to discuss how Prada Group’s commitment to sustainability is at the core of all its recent projects. These include the Prada Re-Nylon collection and the worldwide educational programme "Sea Beyond" in partnership with UNESCO, supported by a percentage of the proceeds from the Prada Re-Nylon collection. Throughout his speech, Lorenzo Bertelli affirmed that consumer interest for sustainable products is now universal. Companies need to actively take this into consideration, as well as their values, when creating products, as Prada Group intends on doing when developing future products and projects.
