Purpose and Values
Milan, 31 May 2022 – Once again, Prada Linea Rossa supports a Red Bull athlete: watersports rider Nikolas Plytas lands on the lunar landscape of Milos, Greece, for his new challenge. The goal and vision of the Greek champion was to create a video that would portray his strong connection with the sea.
In this endeavor, having the perfect technical gear was the most important thing for him and that is why the collaboration with Prada Linea Rossa with Luna Rossa Team for the custom board was valuable. The know-how of Luna Rossa – winner of the Prada Cup in the last America’s Cup - was perfectly combined with the vision of the Red Bull athlete, and the result was truly amazing. The board was a mix of wakeboard and waterski, fast, with sharp edges, and directional (designed to ride best in one direction) for great stability at high speeds. Prada Linea Rossa items, focused on technical detailing and made of pioneering textiles, provided Nikolas with the perfect match of comfort, high-performance and style-consciousness for his challenge.
Watching the video, from the very beginning Nikolas jumps off a cliff, lands on the sea and immediately gets into the right position to ride through a cave. Concentrating intently, he manages to pass through very narrow caves, which requires great accuracy since the speed is high and the distance from the rocks is incredibly short, while at another point he jumps off a cliff with great ease, takes off his board in the air and lands barefoot on the sea.
The ongoing partnership of Prada Linea Rossa with Red Bull aims to promote events and special initiatives focused on sport and innovation, by working alongside athletes and support their talents, improve their skills and help them achieve the ambitious goals they set themselves.
About Nikolas Plytas
Nikolas Plytas is a huge talent on the Greek waterski scene, positioning himself to smash records, push his limits and take on the best in the world. Since he was a teenager, Nikolas Plytas has vowed to not only break his own personal records, but smash longstanding records laid down by other athletes. At 19, he conquered the famous shipwreck at Elefsina, performing tricks over the rusty hull of the stranded ship. It was a perfect example of Nikolas’s ambition to take his tricks and jumps to new heights and find new, innovative spots to inspire his intensive training. When he’s not out on the water, Nikolas swaps his water ski board for a snowboard, taming the snowy slopes, and in 2021 he combined the two disciplines in one project entitled H20.
