GEOTHERMAL AIR CONDITIONING SYSTEM FOR THE NEW PRADA LOGISTICS HUB

The new Prada Logistic Hub in Levanella, in the province of Arezzo, has been equipped with a geothermal air conditioning system among the first in Tuscany for treated water volumes.

The plant exploits geothermal energy reducing emissions and creating alternative and renewable energy while respecting the environment.

Taking water from the rich aquifer in the area where the Logistics Pole is located, the system exchanges heat energy with it through a heat pump, returning the water to the aquifer at the end of the process. As a result, the Prada warehouses can be kept cool in the summer and warm in the winter, using a single efficient system.

There are many advantages over traditional air conditioning technology; the use of geothermal energy sources allows to significantly reduce CO2 emissions and to avoid the emission of fine particles without depleting the aquifer, as the extracted water is completely returned later.

An important project, which involved significant investments, underlining the value given by the Prada Group to sustainable industrial development.
