On September 24, 2017, during Milan Fashion Week, Camera Nazionale della Moda Italiana, in collaboration with Eco-Age, and with the support of the Ministry of Economic Development, the patronage of the Municipality of Milan, presented the first Green Carpet Fashion Awards Italia". The project founded on the values of sustainability, held an evening gala gathering important Italian luxury brands, Made in Italy companies and emerging fashion designers at the Teatro alla Scala of Milano.
This event represents a further step towards a more sustainable fashion system championed by CNMI during the past few years.
A green carpet welcomed international celebrities wearing sustainable looks by various brands respecting the rigorous criteria of the Green Carpet Challenge, the platform conceived by Eco Age – founded by Livia Firth for the implementation of sustainable fashion solutions.
The evening continued with the recognition of the companies who contributed to the promotion of a more sustainable value chain and the award dedicated to emerging Italian and international designers, sponsored by Value Retail, Camera Nazionale della Moda and Eco Age.
Miuccia Prada, together with Giorgio Armani, Alessandro Michele and Pier Paolo Piccioli, received an award for therole of Prada Groupin the Commission of Camera della Moda dedicated to the drafting of “Guidelines on eco-toxicological requirements for articles of clothing, leather goods, footwear and accessories”.
