An all-female colony is revived within a sprawling, labyrinthine space: “Casa Corberó”, Catalan artist Xavier Corberò’s ‘casa sublim’ in Esplugues - close to the outskirts of Barcelona – is the scene of the Spring-Summer 2020 Miu Miu campaign. Part stage set, part installation, part gallery, part home. Still and moving imagery, black and white and vivid colour, are contrasted and compared as well as notions of subject and object. These notions are reflected in the collection itself, where creative freedom and expression – at times spattered and hand-painted, with mismatched buttons, ‘collaged’ ruffles – is contrasted with the discipline of form and severe silhouette.
