PRADA AND AXIOM SPACE UNVEIL THE
    SPACESUIT DESIGN FOR MOON RETURN

Milan, 16th October 2024 - Prada and Axiom Space, a leader in the space industry and the creator of the first commercial orbital station, present the groundbreaking partnership between the aerospace company and the Italian fashion house to produce NASA's new spacesuits for the Artemis III lunar mission, the first crewed Moon landing since December 1972, when the Apollo 17 mission concluded.

Through Artemis, NASA and its partners will land the first woman and first person of color on the surface of the Moon.

Unveiled during the International Astronautical Congress, organized by the International Astronautical Federation (IAF) and hosted by Milan in its 75th edition, the Axiom Extravehicular Mobility Unit (AxEMU) spacesuit represents the result of the extraordinary collaboration between international leaders in technology, innovation and creativity.

Starting on October 18th, 2024, the spacesuit is presented to the public with an installation at the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II as an extension of the IAC event in the heart of the city.

Thanks to Prada’s expertise in raw materials, manufacturing techniques, and innovative design, its engineers worked side by side with the Axiom Space team to create a suit capable of protecting astronauts from the harsh environment of space, and enabling, for the first time, human exploration of the lunar south pole.
