Torgiano, 7th May 2024 - Following an important expansion and requalification completed in 2023, the Prada Group's Torgiano (Umbria) hub for the design and production of knitwear (finished and semi-finished products) was presented today to the press and local stakeholders.
The Group settled in Torgiano in the early 2000s. Since then, the factory has grown considerably: in 2017, the area of the building was doubled for the first time, and a second extension was completed at the end of last year, bringing the total surface of the industrial site to 9,000 square metres.
This has allowed the Group to bring all the main stages of the design and production of knitwear in-house, as well as hosting the Prada Group Academy's training courses. The site now employs 214 people. A park of over 15,000 square metres surrounds the building, integrating it into the territory.
This intervention is part of a wider investment plan launched by the Prada Group in 2015, aimed at upgrading and reorganising its production structure, in order to preserve our artisanal know-how, support the technological development of the production processes, and improve the quality of the work environment.
