Purpose and Values
The Prada Re-Nylon project interprets iconic models of Prada bags in the name of sustainability, using a regenerated nylon yarn obtained from the recycling of plastic waste such as fishing nets and textile fiber waste. For 10,000 tons of ECONYL® yarn produced, 70,000 barrels of oil are saved and emissions of CO2 are reduced by 65,100 tons.
A percentage of proceeds from the sales of the collection supports “Sea Beyond”, a project in collaboration with UNESCO. The educational program focused on environmental sustainability is dedicated to secondary school students in 10 cities around the world. The initiative's goal is to educate and raise awareness among the new generation to adopt a more responsible and mindful behavior towards the ocean and its resources.
